EMF issued a Position Paper on the Future of the EU-Latin American ICT dialogue

En previsión de la Cumbre CELAC-UE en Santiago de Chile en enero 2013, EMF publicó un Position Paper con el tema: El Futuro del Diálogo TIC UE-CELAC: Desafíos sociales, PyMEs e Innovación. Recomendaciones claves para ambas regiones incluyen: Crear un marco para el desarrollo de agendas colaborativas en sectores estratégicos para beneficios mutuales; Fomentar la colaboración S&T entre todas partes interesadas e involucradas en el proceso de innovación; apoyar a las PyMEs dentro de la cadena de valor de la innovación motores principales y factores importantes del crecimiento económico y del empleo; promover la utilización de las TICs como acceso a conocimiento e información para todos; y finalmente, continuar la colaboración fructífera bajo el lema "unidos en la diversidad".

EMF issued a Position Paper on the Future of the EU-Latin American ICT dialogue, in view of the EU-LAC Summit to be held in Santiago de Chile in January 2013. Key recommendations for both sides of the Atlantic include: Creating a framework to develop collaborative agendas in areas of mutual interest to create win-win scenarios; Fostering the ICT dialogue at all levels, including grass root level; supporting SMEs as important actors in the innovation value chain and as drivers of the economy and employment; foster cross-stakeholder collaboration; promote the use of ICT at all levels for an ubiquitous access to knowledge and information; and finally continue the fruitful collaboration under the motto "united in diversity".

Convocatoria para proyectos de desarrollo tecnológico de PyMEs

Hasta el 19 de diciembre a las 12 horas está vigente la convocatoria del FONTAR para la adjudicación de Aportes No Reembolsables (ANR 800) destinados al financiamiento de proyectos de desarrollo tecnológico presentados por empresas PyMEs, en el marco del Programa de Innovación Tecnológica cofinanciado por el BID.

El objetivo del presente llamado consiste en financiar parcialmente iniciativas que tengan como meta mejorar las estructuras productivas y la capacidad innovadora de las empresas productoras de bienes y servicios de distintas ramas de actividad, mediante proyectos que conduzcan a generar innovaciones a nivel nacional de productos y/o procesos.

New EU Strategy for SME internationalisation

The EC issued a new communication on the internationalisation of SMEs yesterday, 9 November 2011 in which it laid down a new strategy to pave the way for SMEs to expand their business outside the EU. Among the activities are:
1. Strengthening and mapping the existing supply of support services
2. Creating a single virtual gateway to information for SMEs
3. Making support schemes at EU level more consistent
4. Promoting clusters and networks for SME internationalisation
5. Rationalising new activities in priority markets
6. Leveraging existing EU external policies

SME Initiative on Digital Content and Languages - call is now open!

The European Commission is launching the SME Initiative on Digital Content and Languages (Challenge 4 of the FP7-ICT Work Programme) to promote SMEs active in the area of digital content and language technologies.

The new SME-DCL Call makes available 35 MEUR of funding for proposals that must include at least two SMEs (and other types of organisations as appropriate for the proposal). The overall goal is to generate added value from trading, pooling and exploiting data (including language resources) in order to produce novel technologies, products and services.

The submission of the proposal must be done in 2 steps (short proposal and full proposal). The deadline for the short proposal is 28 April 2011 and the deadline for the full proposals 28 September (only proposals retained at stage 1 will be able to go to stage 2).
