ANII of Uruguay and CDTI of Spain signed a cooperation agreement for financing R&D projects

On March 15, 2010, the National Agency for Research and Innovation (ANII) of Uruguay and the Centre for Industrial Technological Development (CDTI) in Spain, signed a collaboration agreement, with the aim of developing a higher level of activity in institutions of both countries participating together in Iberoeka, Iberoamerica Innova, among other programs.
With this agreement, CDTI and ANII commit, based on their available budget, to finance R&D projects with common interest for both countries, paying special attention to the degree of innovation in each country, financial capacity of partners to develop the project, degree of commitment of the parties, and impact on the economies of both countries.
Both bodies identified as priority areas for cooperation, not exclusive from other areas of R & D, the following: Biotechnology, Health, Energy, Development of agro-industrial chains, Environment and Natural Resources, and Information Technology and Telecommunications.
