Successful contacts Chile-EU in Warsaw Proposers Day

The AMERICAS project organized two actions aiming at promoting the participation of Chilean ICT researchers in the European Commission's ICT Proposers’ Day 2012 in Warsaw, Poland on 26-27 September 2012:

1. A call for letters of intent with the purpose of supporting the participation of a Chilean ICT researcher in the ICT Proposers’ Day.
2. The opportunity to fill in a Researcher’s Profile Fiche for the attendants of the AMERICAS’ Master Class in Chile gave the chance to get in contact with the researchers attending the ICT Proposers’ day too.

These two actions were powerful instruments for networking between Chilean ICT researchers and their foreign peers as they enabled the Chilean researchers taking part in the Warsaw event to promote the potential of other Chilean organizations to participate in ICT projects.

Results of the the ICT Proposers’ Day

The ICT Proposers’ Day which was held in Warsaw on 26/27 September was a success. Over 2.000 European and international stakeholders gathered in the Polish capital to acquire information about the funding opportunities offered by the ICT Work Programme 2013 and to exchange ideas on future project proposals.

The funding opportunities under "EU-Brazil ICT Cooperation" and "International Partnership building and support to dialogues" were presented by Mr Manuel Monteiro, European Commission, 'Experimetal Platforms' Unit and by Mr Adriel Cabrera, European Commission, "International Cooperation" Unit respectively. 

Margaretha Mazura, EMF, gave a presentation on AMERICAS and encouraged the audience to visit the AMERICAS website and participate in the activities of the project. Particular reference was given to the Project Angels’ network that supports partner search in Latin American countries.

EMF, the Forum of e-Excellence will participate to ICT Proposers' Day

The ICT Proposers' Day will be organised on next Wednesday 26 & Thursday 27 September 2012 in Warsaw, Poland.  This Event is for everyone who is interested in responding to calls for proposals for R&D projects in the field of Information and Communication Technologies:
- Networking sessions organised according to the Challenges and Objectives of the ICT Work Programme 2013 where potential proposers present their project ideas
- Stands/villages, organized per Challenge and Objective, which serve as meeting points for people interested in the same research topics
- Ample space for informal networking and bilateral pre-arranged meetings between participants
- Information sessions on how to prepare and submit a proposal
- Objective stands where European Commission officials provide up-to-date information on the research Challenges and Objectives of the ICT Work Programme 2013 and the content of the calls for proposals
- An EC ICT information desk and a document library to supply information on relevant topics
